Rains Continue To Lash Mumbai, Normal Life Hit

Rain lashes Mumbai againMumbai has been grappling with intense monsoon showers, which continued for the fourth consecutive day.lthough there was no overnight rain, it started pouring heavily in some areas of the city at around 5 am on Tuesday morning.The incessant rainfall has brought the city to a virtual standstill.

The Met office has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours, and consequently, schools, which were closed today, will remain closed on Wednesday.Although the situation is not as bad as last year’s deluge, people say that the situation is worse than the disruption usually caused by the monsoon.And the anger of the city’s residents has echoed in the form of an SMS, which is circulating across the city, calling upon the citizens to boycott taxes until there are concrete improvements.

The Mithi river is presently flowing at full capacity and the Powai lake is also full, and part of the Mumbai-Pune Expressway has been closed due to a landslide.
