Will India win the World Cup?

India the champions of 1983 are still waiting to win another one and hopefully this will be the cup and year when we can win our second World Cup. We really wish and hope that the team does well and make us proud in the world. Kapil’s men won us the world cup when they were not expected to win and since than we have come so close yet so far to win another for another two decades. Dravid has a great team and all the stats and figure will show we are one of the favourites to win the cup this time. But what I really do not understand we Indians take this game so seriously that we put undue pressure on the team. One thing which I do not like is the unnecessary things we do like performing yagnas and puja in church, masjid and temples. I would rather like those enthusiastic youths to do some real social work and does some charity work for the poor and needy. They should help each other and make sure India shows to the other World that her citizens are real human beings who love and care about other fellow citizens.

I would really like to wish India to win the cup but with the start they have against Bangladesh it does not look good. Let’s not lose hope and think that it was a minor bleep and we will learn from our mistake and get our acts together. The team should make a serious effort and regroup themselves so that they can win the rest of their matches. We are still with the team and would be with them through thick and thin and wish them all the success.

Come on India show the entire world how good you are and why we are so proud of you’ll.

Is there any Humans left in Pakistani Army?

Events of Kargil war is still alive with most of Indians who still cannot forgive Pakistan for their act of cowardism. But events like this makes us more determined to hate them more than before. I would like to request all our readers to express their views whether Indian or not. If you are a Human being and would like to be treated as one please express your solidarity and views so that we can show the Pakistani Govt to take action against the guilty of this cruel event.

Lt. Saurabh Kalia of 4 JAT Regiment of the Indian Army laid down his life at the young age of 22 for the nation while guarding the frontiers at Kargil. His parents, indeed the Indian Army and nation itself, lost a dedicated, honest and brave son.He was the first officer to detect and inform about Pakistani intrusion. Pakistan captured him and his patrol party of 5 brave   men alive on May 15, 1999 from the Indian side of LOC. They were kept in captivity for three weeks and subjected to unprecedented  brutal torture, evident from their bodies handed over by Pakistan Army on June 9, 1999. The Pakistanis indulged in dastardly acts of inflicting burns on these Indian officers with cigarettes, piercing their ears with hot rods, removing their eyes before puncturing them and breaking most of the bones and teeth. They even chopped off various limbs and private organs of the Indian soldiers besides inflicting unimaginable physical and mental torture.

After 22 days of torture, the brave soldiers were ultimately shot dead. A detailed post-mortem report is with the Indian Army. Pakistan dared to humiliate India this way flouting all international norms. They proved the extent to which they can degrade humanity. However, the Indian soldiers did not break while undergoing all this unimaginable barbarism, which speaks volumes  of their patriotism, grit, determination, tenacity and valour-something all of India should be  proud of.Sacrificing oneself for the nation is an honour every soldier would be proud of, but no parent, army or nation can accept what happened to these brave sons of India. I am afraid every parent may think twice to send their child in the armed forces if we all fall short of our duty  in safeguarding the PRISONERS OF WAR AND LET THEM MEET THE FATE OF LT.SAURABH KALIA.
It may also send a demoralising signal to the army personnel fighting for the Nation that our POWs in Pak cannot be taken care of. It is a matter of shame and disgust that most of
Indian Human Rights Organisations by and large, showed apathy in this matter.

Through this humble submission, may I appeal to all the civilized people irrespective of colour, caste, region, religion and political lineage to stir their conscience and rise to take this as a NATIONAL ISSUE !!! International Human Rights Organizations must be approached to expose and pressure Pakistan to identify, book and punish all those who perpetrated this heinous crime to our men in uniform. If Pakistan is allowed to go unpunished in this case, we can only imagine the consequences. Below is the list of 5 other soldiers who preferred to die for the country rather than open their mouths in front of enemy –

Does God belong to Upper Caste?

It was really very sad to hear that some upper caste people do not allow Dalits to entre temple for Darshan. I feel really ashamed to say that it happened in my state Orissa. The Dalits were so annoyed that one fine day they foricbly entered the temple. Now we see that the upper caste people have done some special puja to purify the temple and have again restricted for any further entry of Dalits. The Govt has not done much to solve this issue becuase of political dificulties no political party want to solve this problem. I am a brahmin by birth but I would not have any problme if I am with a Dalit in the temple for darshan. God created human being and we created caste and religion everyone wants to be close to God to thank him for creating us and giving us such a beautiful world. But the same people fight among themselves to reach God in the name of religion and caste. I really do not believe anyone has right to stop another person from praying the Almighty God.  Lord Jagarnath God of the World always believed everyone was equal He infact liked poor and needy his main desciple was even muslim so if God do not have any objection who are we to bar anyone to enter the temple.

The Dalits are now so disgusted with the Govt and politicians that they are planning to embrace another religion like Buddhism. Now I call all the Hindu and Hindu fundamentalist to give a justified reason as why they should not leave Hinduism when they are not allowed to pray like proper Hindus. Does God belong to upper caste only?

Is Naveen Patnaik over rated as a CM? What is this CD controversy?

Naveen Patnaik the honourable CM of Orissa still known by his father name Biju Patnaik has been ruling the state for two terms. He is been rated high on the survey conducted by the media poll he was the second best or popular CM after Nitish Kumar. But I am really finding hard to believe that how can he be so popular he hasn’t done much development work his policies are not exceptional. He is not even good in controling his own house and party. He is the only CM in India who does not know his mother tongue and still after 6 years as orissa’s CM he is finding it hard to learn Oriya. Whereas Alvira (Abantika) a Russain devotee of Lord jagarnath has learned Oriya in just six months and is now preaching and enchanting slokas in Oriya that is a real shame to all of us who do not respect our mother tongue. But the reason I think made him popular is a lack of a strong opposition leader. Now if the people of Orissa have to select someone else it would be J B Patnaik of Congress who is well known is the state for his corruption and lack of people friendly projects. Thus this automatically puts him as the favourite for the Cm’s post. Naveen please do not take the people of Orissa for granted and change your way of functioning be active and please please please bring some good projects to Orissa. Please make sure we get the Mital’s steel plant project, get some major IT giants. Please take a lesson from your neighbour Andhra Pradesh Cm and Karnataka CM as they are working overtime to get big companies to invest in their state so that their state could develop. When big companies come it not only gives us job oppurtunity but also they get involved in various social and development projects for the local community. Mr CM please respect the people mandate and do some people friendly projects for Orissa and make the people of Orissa proud. I truly believe Orissa has the potential to be one of the developed states like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala. To add to this the recent controverys where Naveen Patnaik has come under suspicion in the wake of the video CD that apparently shows Dilip Singh Judeo accepting cash to facilitate mining deals. The CD shows Natwar Rateria, the personal assistant of the Union minister of state for environment who resigned today, as saying Patnaik can be persuaded to do anything.

Rateria tells Rahul, the representative of an Australia-based company seeking the deals that “Orissa mein… apna kaafi command hai… Nau hazaar crore ki relief Naveen Patnaik ko apne mantralay ke project se… uss se kuch bhi karva sakte hain. Main yeh keh sakta hoon, Orissa government… thodi hi der bahar hai (We have good influence in Orissa. Our ministry gave the Naveen Patnaik government relief worth Rs 9,000 crore. We can make him do anything. Let me tell you Orissa government… is out of the ambit only for a while),”. he also said “Orissa mein tasalli banaon. Jo chahenge voh hoga. Chunaav nipat jaaye, Dilli mein Patnaik ke saath baith ke apni saari consultants bulva lena (Rest assured about Orissa. Whatever we want will happen. Just let the elections get over. Then we will sit with Patnaik in Delhi and you can call all your consultants),”. When Rahul said “Usko (apparently Patnaik) thoda sa milke… apan ko thoda kaam aage badhana hain… (I need to meet him to move my work forward).” Rateria answers that “Aapko agar vahan koi kaam aage badhana hai, toh hum forward kar dete hain CM house mein. Aap unse jaake milo. Aapko voh poori tavajjo denge (If you want to get some work done there, we will forward the plea to the CM’s house. You go and meet him. He will give you a proper hearing).” “Meri baat suno. Orissa ke mamle mein agar aap kisi ko bhi bhejoge Vikram Singh (Judeo’s officer on special duty) ke paas, voh 100-point verified hoga (Listen to me, if you send someone to Vikram Singh on the Orissa matter, it will be verified 100-point).”. The opposition congress has asked for a CBI inquiry to the PM only time will tell the real truth but to make things worse even his party MLA’s feel that the government was showing undue favour to the Jindals in mining at Tangarpada in Dhenkanal district. Mr CM can you please clarify this to the people of Orissa.

CM take a leaf from Alvira ( Abantika) Book of Devotion

A Russian Woman who is a devotee of Lord Jagarnath has learnt Oriya in just 6 months which our Honourable CM could not do in 6 years. She has not only mastered the art of speaking Oriya, but also sings hymns by Jaydev, Salabega and Banamali and the Geet Govind with perfection. And all this within a span of just six months. On the other hand, Patnaik has spent six years in the CM’s office but is still unable to speak his mother tongue. It proves that if you are devoted and have the will power to learn something you can do it no matter how hard it is. But I think our CM does not want to learn Oriya might be he considers Oriya to be a inferior language. She wanted to be learn about Lord Jagarnath so she learnt Oriya within six months. She did not go for any formal tuition in the language but always tried to speak it. It is not difficult to learn it.

An Iskcon devotee, she visits Puri at least thrice a year. Abantika recently became the first foreigner to perform Oriya songs at Lion’s Gate, the main entrance of  Jagannath Temple, at a concert during snan purnima . She also mesmerised the audiences at the International Peace and Harmony Congress here. ‘‘She was very fast in learning Oriya songs. She has a sweet voice and her pronunciation of Oriya words is quite similar to ours,’’ said Nalini Kanta Nayak, a music teacher at the city-based Meera Music School Abantika attended music classes at Nalini’s school for 22 days.

Bhubaneswari Mishra said ‘‘I was surprised to see that she could sing religious songs so comfortably. I have trained four foreigners so far, but Abantika was the best,’’ Abantika said “While chanting or listening to religious songs based on Jagannath, I feel his presence within me,’’ she said. ‘‘ I became emotional while singing in the concert at Lion’s Gate.’’ She wants to spread Jagannath culture to the world. ‘‘I have been visiting various countries to preach Jagannath culture.’’

No Politics This Time. Please Allow Mittal To Build Steel Plant

The steel baron, LN Mittal of Mital Steel announced his intention to set up a 12 million tonne steel plant in two phases in Orissa and hoped to sign an agreement to this effect with the state shortly.

According to Mittal the total investment in the plant could be of the order of Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000 crore. And he indicated that the company has dropped a proposal to set up a plant in Jharkhand of equal capacity because of the delays in Ranchi and instead concentrate on Orissa.

Mr Naveen Patnaik should now wake up and allow his state to develop. Due to his silence, many things are going away from his hand. Jharkhand is waiting for this oppurtunity, while Mital is showing intrest in Orissa.

Mittal Steel Looks At Orissa For His Next Investment

Orissa is now a new destination for Lakshmi Niwas Mittal for his next investment. The steel baron, who achieved a new high by successfully taking over Arcelor recently, is slated to visit the state on Friday with a possible investment plan.

Although the state government is yet to receive any concrete proposal from the world’s biggest steelmaker, the visit is expected to bring good tidings for the state, officials said.According to the chief minister’s office, chairman of Mittal Steel will meet CM Naveen Patnaik at the state secretariat to discuss possible investments in Orissa during his two-hour-long stay here. Before signing the Arcelor deal, Mittal had said he was planning to expand base in India and China.Mittal had signed an MoU with the Jharkhand government for a 10-MTPA greenfield steel unit last year, but the project is reportedly facing stiff resistance. He may go for a similar MoU with the Orissa government as a back-up plan, officials said.

In fact, the possibility of Mittal setting up a steel facility in Orissa has been in the air for two years now. According to the officials, the arrival of South Korean company Posco in the state could have made Mittal Steel put its plans on hold.Sources said Mittal has not indicated any details of the investment proposed in the state. “It is essentially exploratory at the moment. We will make a presentation on the benefits that the state offers and would like to hear what he has in mind. Once the basic interaction is over and we know what is on his mind, we can discuss the specifics,” an official said.

While an e-mail to Mittal Steel spokesperson in London went unanswered, the visit to Orissa could have been prompted by the world’s largest steel company’s inability to grab a share of iron ore in the highly lucrative Chiria mines in Jharkhand. It is also possible that Mittal is exploring the possibility of setting up a second facility in India, a market he has not entered so far despite having a global footprint.

Officials said Orissa can make available captive mines for a 5 MT steel plant in the state.
